The Kidnapped Bride

Chapter 113 - Outdated Mistress

Jennifer's hand remained in the middle air, and her mouth still opened. The spoon was filled with food, which was ready to put inside her mouth yet everything changed into awkwardness since the voice was clear.

Without even looking at the source of the voice, she already predicted who is the person, who can spout such nonsense in this mansion. The one who is just frustrated from her to the core and showed her displeasure in the starting itself, at her arrival.

"Hmm? Did I say something wrong, Butler? I don't think so. We, Johnsons, keep our respect at the topmost level and letting our enemy's bride have lunch with us.. I don't think that is appropriate."

Shirley was spouting nonsense with her filial mouth continuously.

At the same time, Jennifer doesn't know what to say anymore. She looked at the other food and then looked back at Shirley from the corner of her shoulders.

'This lady is surely attacking me now...as her prey. Gosh... how dare she stop me eating the food.' The anger was consuming her when she realized the entire situation.

But despite everything, Jennifer ate the bite.

There was anger growing inside her chest, at the moment where she wished to just drag the lady and beat her into the pulp but controlling her nerves, she removed the frown that was earlier curved on her face.

At the same time, Javier's eyes lingered at his stepmother for a few seconds and moved to see Jennifer as in the mix of emotions, whether to eat the food ahead or not.

At last, he saw that she finally gave in and ate without thinking about what Shirley said.

But his limit of patience was already tested. Without turning his head, Javier said as if he was talking to Jennifer, "Don't you feel some kind of nuisance today? You see, the reason why I don't like coming back to the villa is the same, there are many ants and pigs here and they are making noises."

His tone was calm, but with a slightly raised voice, so that everyone could hear what he just said. The butler was quiet, but somehow, his eyes narrowed when he heard Young master's words.

Did he just compared Shirley to a pig?!

"You are correct. There was so much peace back in the apartment but now I feel that this palace is full of animals. Moreover, I see all animals can be played by a single individual...in this house." Jennifer sounded too logical while speaking as if both of them were in most series discussing.

Hearing their words, Shirley's eyes glimmered when she walked closer to them. "Are You guys talking about me?" Lifting their eyes, they saw Shirley coming to the dining table and asking them straight, face to face.

Jennifer passed her warm smile, the sweetest of all, "I just mentioned this entire villa. Not specifically you. You yourself thought that we are talking about you."She pretended, putting all the blame on Shirley's head made Javier laugh.

A chuckle escaped her lips when he was trying to control his inner feelings but the Smile wasn't missed.

"Exactly, Why will I do that? I will definitely not call you animal for sure.. When you are not even worth being one? Animals are better than you, they are loyal and loved, yet you..." Javier's gaze lingered at her face and moved down, scanned from top to bottom, and continued, "You are more degraded as compared to the animals."

Jennifer laughed while holding her stomach. Javier's insult was way more than what she could have even imagined. "Oh... Lol, Javier...hahaha.. so good!" She tapped his shoulder passing him some praise.

But at the same time, Shirley's face lost all its colors. She looked almost pale, anger or ashamed, no one could predict next except herself. "You both! How dare you say that to me, Javier!?"

"How I dared? The same way you dared to come here and stop us from eating food. Don't mess with me otherwise, if I open my mouth to say, many secrets will be spoken out and then you can kiss goodbye to you this respect, attitude and prestigious title.." with this Javier ate another bite of his food, without baiting her an eye.

"Javier, I'm your father's wife. Don't you have a little bit of shame while talking to your elders? I know that you miss your mom b-" Shirley was cut in the middle when Javier passed her daggers.

His eyes were suddenly covered with a layer of mist and coldness, surprising Jennifer and Shirley both at the same time. His aura dropped immensely, making the temperature in the room reach its peak in negative.

"Don't." That was all that he said, but Shirley seemed puzzled. Seeing her puzzled expressions, he added on, "Don't you dare to drag my mother in this conversation otherwise, no one can stop me from kicking you out of the space at this instant, and trust me, no one will stop me on this!"

Jennifer was also surprised to see the change in his demeanor, felt everything was right in his accordance.

The lady dared to drag his mother into their word battle, how can he tolerate the same so easily?

Shirley's face was consumed with fear, but her ego was higher than that of the sky. How can she easily admit defeat to these young children who are nothing in front of her, as she felt they are useless.

Lifting her chin as high as possible, she again spoke in the most authenticate and arrogant way, "So what?! I'm your father's wife-"

"You think that you are the only one who can warm his bed? There are hundreds of women out there who are ready to marry him, despite his age and his grown children.... Or leave the marriage, they are willingly submitting to be his mistress, do you think he still needs an old brat like you who is already outdated?"
