Chapter 132 - Winner

Chapter 132: Winner

After only nine participants out of the thirty-eight remained for the next round, Aakesh waved his hands, and the participants who failed to survive the sword swing appeared sitting on their chairs.

Since nine participants remained, Aakesh had to make their competition table.

The next moment, the names on the virtual projection changed, and only the nine names of the remaining participants remained.

Aakesh then looked at the group and announced, "Since there are nine of you, we can't make groups for the battles. You all would fight one battle with each participant, so that means each of you would fight eight battles."

"For every win in the battle, you would get 1 point. After all the battles had happened, the top two point owners would face in the final battle, and whoever wins it would win the sword."

Aakesh concluded and gestured the participants to enter the virtual portals. Each participant appeared in the same battle arena for this round.

A projection then appeared in the battle arena. There were two sections in it. One division contained the information of who would fight, and the other included a table with each of their names and would change with points.

In the store, the fifteen divisions on the black screen disappeared, and instead, a whole black screen appeared that showed the scene happening in the virtual arena.

The projection in the battle arena suddenly had changes, and the names of those who would fight the battle appeared.

It was the battle between Bent, a Prince, and Clark, a commoner who had the cultivation level of Soul Formation. Since the cultivation level didn't matter, Clark had a chance to defeat Bent using the practice in swords he had.

The next moment, both Bent and Clark appeared in the battle arena. They had the same sword with which they survived the sword swing.

"Ding!"

The next moment, the bell rang and announced the start of the battle.

Bent decided to make a move first, so he directly rushed toward Clark. Clark calmly faced the slash that came at him.

"Clang!"

The next moment, the clash of the sword rang in the battle arena, and it was only the start as Clark calmly faced every sword slash that came at him.

Time flew by, and an ugly expression appeared on Bent's face as he wasn't able to defeat a commoner when they had the same level of skillset, while Clark had a wet face due to the sweat.

Suddenly, Clark made a mistake as his sword started slipping due to the sweat he had in his palms. Since it was a basic sword, it didn't have a word-class grip that could stay still even when the palm was wet.

The ugly expression Bent had disappeared, and instead, a smile appeared on his face as he didn't let go of the chance and created two slashes at the same time. Clark was able to face off the first strike, but the second strike crossed his barrier and created a large cut in his chest.

With a groan, Clark fell down on the ground. Bent put his sword on his head and asked whether he wanted to give up or not. Since Clark didn't want to feel the sensation of losing his head, he gave up the battle.

The next moment, a blue light engulfed both Bent and Clark. After the light faded, all the exhaustion Bent and Clark had been feeling disappeared, and the cut on Clark's chest also healed.

"Do you want to become my guard?" Bent suddenly asked Clark as the calm composure Clark had throughout the battle impressed him.

Clark looked at Bent with surprise in his eyes, but when he noticed that he wasn't joking, Clark stood up and then knelt down. "It would be my fortune, prince!" Clark shouted.

All the prince's faces turned ugly seeing this scene as the addition of someone like Clark in Bent's guards would only make him stronger.

The next moment, the leaderboard had some changes as Bent appeared on the top of it with one point.

Time flew by. The second battle was between George and Pento. George won the fight with ease since he had been one of the most talented beings of the Pocoso Empire.

After around twenty minutes, all the battles ended. As expected, George came at the top of the leaderboard with winning all eight fights, but the second position was a surprise for everybody.

It wasn't Punta but the princess that had passed the first round. Her name was Brinda, and she was the third child of Pinto. Even Punta was surprised by seeing the skillset of his granddaughter.

Brinda had qualified to the finals by winning seven of the eight battles, only losing to George.

The next moment, on the projection, appeared the name of George and Brinda for the final battle.

After their name came, they both appeared in the battle arena. The next moment, the bell rang and announced the start of the battle.

Brinda made the first move as she had made the mistake of going defensive in the previous battle against George.

Brinda appeared in front of George the next moment, but he was already prepared for the strike. He easily flicked her swing by the back of his sword and made a move against her.

Brinda had already prepared for something like this, so she backed straight away, but how could George let her go, so he rushed at her.

"Clang!"

"Clang!"

The next moment, continuous metallic clashes rang in the battle arena.

George suddenly grabbed her sword by his hands, as the direct clash wasn't taking him anywhere. It almost split his hands into two, but before it could happen, his sword was at her neck.

"Give up!" George expressionlessly said.

Rather than give up, Brinda increased the power of her sword swing, and George's fingers flew through the air. But Brinda didn't see the scene as George had cut her head right away.

The next moment, a blue light engulfed both of them, and their injuries healed. Brinda came back to life.

After George won the round, all the participants disappeared from the battle arena and appeared on the platform. A projection of a golden crown appeared on George's head since he had won the first event.
