Chapter 370 - END - Chapter 370: Finale

Chapter 370: Finale

“Qiao Yue?”

The girls sat up unsteadily from the operating table with her gun aimed at Austin. It was the gun that Su Xun had gifted her.

The girl standing behind Qiao Yue tore off the sticky human mask from her face and revealed a gentle face.

“Godfather, my sister died because of you. You deserve it.”

It was Jin Lu.

Godfather covered his bleeding wound and smiled at Qiao Yue. “It doesn’t matter. I’ll press the remote control now, and you’ll meet your stupid mother. What I can’t have…”

“Godfather, since I can replace Minnie under your nose, I can also find the bomb you planted on me. Godfather, you were too stupid.”

Qiao Yue’s body was on the verge of collapsing, but she still stood up slowly with the help of the bed. Qiao Jing walked over and helped her up.

“When I was saved by Qiao Jing back then, the miniature bomb on me had already been removed.” Qiao Yue looked at Austin. “I’ve never really trusted you, Godfather.”

Austin pressed the remote control several times in disbelief, but there was no response.

He looked at Qiao Yue and revealed a self-deprecating smile. “But don’t forget, Qiao Yue, you’ve been injected with a drug that causes amnesia. Even if you regain your memory later, how can you be sure that you’ll still fall in love with Qiao Jing?”

Qiao Yue smiled. “That’s none of your business. Godfather, you just have to go to hell now and apologize to my mother.”

Qiao Yue slowly raised her hand and pulled the trigger.

This shot hit Austin’s temple.

After the shot, Qiao Yue lay weakly in Qiao Jing’s arms.

“Don’t talk anymore. I’ll take you home now.” Qiao Jing scooped her up in his arms, his heart aching.

Qiao Jing didn’t actually get off the cruise ship. He found Jin Lu on the ship the day he boarded. He later found a substitute to replace him and got off the ship. After that, he got in touch with Jin Lu and laid an ambush in the operating room Austin had set up.

“The drug is real.” Qiao Yue said weakly. “When I wake up, I’ll forget who you are.”

Qiao Yue reached out and touched Qiao Jing’s face, as if she wanted to etch his face into her palm.

“It’s alright. I’ll come find you.” Qiao Jing looked at the woman he loved, who was gradually losing consciousness in his arms. He grabbed her hand and placed it on his heart.

“Okay, I will wait for you.”

After Qiao Yue said that, she closed her eyes.

The ship continued cruising as the people who just survived a life and death crisis disembarked via lifeboat. The stars were silent as they watched everyone under the infinite sky.

Three years later…

L-City was the sunshine city of M-Country, well suited for recuperation and vacation.

In a retro-styled building by the sea, a girl was stretching out of bed.

The windows were left open last night, so the sea breeze blew through the curtains while the sun shone on the girl.

She picked up a bandage from the bedside table and wrapped it around her neck a few times.

There were ugly scars on her neck and many more on her body. After covering them with bandages or concealer, she stood up and tidied the room before going downstairs.

“Morning, Qiao Yue.” Mrs. Annie, who was preparing breakfast downstairs, smiled at her. “You don’t have classes today. Why are you up so early?”

“I’m going to the beach with Jin Lu today, so I woke up early.” Qiao Yue stuffed the bread into her mouth.

She came to L-City three years ago with amnesia. It was said that she was a young lady from a prestigious family in C-Country, who was sent out of the country after her family fell.

But Qiao Yue didn’t mind this. She was studying in M-Country and living the life of an ordinary foreign student. No family would disturb her. She would receive living expenses on her bankcard regularly, like clockwork.

After breakfast, Qiao Yue rode her bike to the beach. At an intersection, she ran into a man holding a large bouquet of roses.

The man was wearing a black sweater, his fringe hung down his forehead. The roses he was carrying were scattered all over the floor.

He smelled faintly of a tropical plant.

Qiao Yue sniffed carefully and looked at the man.

He was a very good-looking person from C-Country, with cold eyebrows and sharp features.

“May I know what perfume you’re wearing?”

“It’s of round-leaf eucalyptus.” The man smiled at her.

This person’s voice also sounded very familiar. Qiao Yue extended her hand. “Hello, my name is Qiao Yue.”

“Qiao Jing.” The man smiled.

The smell of round-leaf eucalyptus rekindled some memory fragments in Qiao Yue’s mind.

“Did we know each other before?”
