Mr Fu, I Really Love You

Chapter 990 - I’m Not the One Destined for You!

Chapter 990: I’m Not the One Destined for You!

“Okay, I want to talk with you as well!” Song Yao said.

Su Huan was the most gentle and gentlemanly man Song Yao knew. He shouldn’t be wasting his time with her. He ought to open up his heart and meet a girl who loved him more. Hence, Song Yao wanted to make things clear this time.

Inside the cafe.

Su Huan ordered a cup of milk for Song Yao and black coffee for himself like he always did.

Song Yao held the cup handle and turned back to indicate for the female bodyguard to go further away before speaking to Su Huan. “Su Huan… you ought to look forward. It has been so long since we broke up. You shouldn’t still be keeping the watch and wallet I gave you…”

Su Huan gazed at Song Yao with a gentle smile, not making a sound.

“Toss it! If you can’t do it, give it to me! I’ll toss it for you! Don’t trap yourself in the past. I was the one who let you down, so you ought to hate me, not pine after me!” Song Yao said.

“Hate you for what?” Su Huan still looked as elegant and gentlemanly as ever, saying in a deep and magnetic voice, “When we were still together, you stayed loyal to me! After we broke up peacefully… whoever you choose to be with is up to you. In our relationship, no one let anyone down, so you don’t need to feel burdened.”

Song Yao’s nostrils flared slightly…

Regardless of what happened, Su Huan would always find all sorts of reasons and excuses for Song Yao. This seemed to have become Su Huan’s habit.

Even when she was three hours late for one of their dates, Su Huan stood in the snow for three hours. During those three hours, Su Huan kept sending messages, none of them urging Song Yao to hurry, but instead, reminding her not to be anxious and to prioritize safety first.

When they met, Su Huan had nearly become a snowman. Yet, without waiting for Song Yao to explain, Su Huan held Song Yao in his embrace and said softly in her ear, “The roads are slippery on a snowy day. I should have fetched you, sorry! So long as you’re here safe and sound!”

Since then, so long as it snowed… Su Huan would fetch her regardless of where Song Yao was.

She had clearly promised Su Huan to go on a holiday together after she was done filming a drama. However, after the movie ended, her manager said that they should strike while the iron was hot, that by the time her drama went on TV, Song Yao would constantly be on the screens, which would do her a lot of good.

Hence, with one drama after the other, the date she set with Su Huan kept being postponed…

Later, regardless of where Song Yao was filming, Su Huan would go. On the day that her filming wrapped up, the two would walk hand-in-hand to the nearby tourist attractions and walk around, and that was considered traveling for them.

Song Yao apologized, but Su Huan said he understood that Song Yao was on the rise and was busier, that it was only right that he accommodated her.

But he was the only son of the Su family. Although the Su Company wasn’t large, there were still many things waiting for him to do. Because Su Huan was an ambitious man, he too had his own dreams. Song Yao had always known that Su Huan was actually even busier than she was!

It was said that in a relationship, the one who loved more deeply was the inferior one…

But Song Yao had always felt that the one who loved more deeply was the nobler one!

In her past with Su Huan, he had always been the noble one, whereas Song Yao was an escapist in reality. She had been defeated by reality. She wanted much more… but based on Su Huan’s capability at the time, he wasn’t able to satisfy her ambitions. He wasn’t even able to protect her!

Hence, she chose to break up.

She still remembered the day they broke up. A disheveled Su Huan looked at the teary-faced Song Yao on the sofa. He squatted before her, holding her hands, swearing upon his life to get Song Yao to give him three years’ time! Three years later, he would surely succeed, and he would have the ability to be a large investor. When the time came, Song Yao would be able to act in whatever movie she wanted, and he would be able to satisfy her every wish!

Alas, Song Yao became the disloyal and materialistic one in their relationship!

She said she couldn’t afford to wait another three years. The script she had set her sights on was snatched by someone else, the roles she fancied were other people’s, she was bullied at the set, and directors wanted her to sleep with them in exchange for movie roles, yet no one could protect her. She didn’t want to go to the set, but she had already signed a contract, and she couldn’t afford to pay the compensation for breach of contract!

Since she shot to fame with her first drama until then, Song Yao’s path was way more arduous than Su Huan realized. But she was unwilling to tell Su Huan because she knew he wouldn’t be of help, and she didn’t wish to add a psychological burden to Su Huan.

She said that she wanted to take a shortcut like the others, because she was tired…

She only wanted to be treated fairly, but the fairness or even help that she wanted, only that investor could give!

Finally, Su Huan agreed to break up, because he couldn’t bear to see Song Yao suffer.

He admitted that he didn’t have the ability to protect Song Yao, to help her…

It wasn’t that Su Huan didn’t have the courage to lavishly spend extravagant sums for Song Yao, but he didn’t have capital that belonged to him!

Even if he were to throw in the entire Su Company, how many movies could he afford to sponsor as the largest investor for Song Yao?

At the thought of those things, Song Yao’s heart ached. She said, “After today, I don’t think we’ll have any opportunities to meet. After you receive the transfer, I’ll delete you from my friend’s list again! We’re ex-lovers, we loved each other… we hurt. I can’t go against my heart and say we can still be good friends. By staying in contact… it’s a form of harm to both my husband and your future girlfriend!”

Through the steam from his coffee, Su Huan nodded at Song Yao, as if he would consent to whatever Song Yao said with no strings attached. “Okay…”

Song Yao lowered her head, holding the hot milk with both hands. After a momentary silence, she said, “I’ve thought about why we couldn’t persist to the end. You let go because you loved more deeply. I let go because I didn’t love enough. After meeting my current husband, Cen Mo, I realized what it’s like to love someone deeply. For Cen Mo, I can give up the acting career that I viewed as something as important as my life. I only ask that he’s healthy and safe and can stay with me until a ripe old age!”

“We were together for so many years, yet we never crossed the boundary. I said I wanted to leave the most wonderful part for the night of our wedding. Actually, that’s not wonderful. That’s because I wasn’t prepared. Up until the time we broke up, I wasn’t prepared! Otherwise… when we broke up, I should have given myself to you! But facing my husband… almost the instant we met, I was willing to give myself to him!”

Song Yao used the most straightforward language to reveal the scars that both of them knew but hid inside, unwilling to mention.

What she said was like a knife that mercilessly stabbed into Su Huan’s heart.

He nodded with a smile.

“Su Huan, I’m not the one destined for you!” Song Yao said.

Some pain needed to be felt thoroughly by Su Huan in order for him to harden his heart and erase Song Yao from his life…

It would hurt, but after he recovered from it, he could have a new life and not be immersed in the past forever.

“You’re the best man I’ve ever met! And also the person I owe the most in this life!” Song Yao’s eyes were watery. “I hope you… can be happy!”

Su Huan still nodded with the air of a gentleman.
