The next day, the twins woke up before the adults. Yuyan squirmed a little as she tried to get out from Lu Xinyi’s arm that lay across her. Beside her, Zhichen cracked an eye open and silently glared at his sister, telling her to be still and not wake up their Aunty Xinxin.

Lu Xinyi rolled on her back and sighed softly in her sleep. Yuyan took a quick glimpse on her Aunty Xinxin’s face before turning back her attention to her brother, surprised that her gaze landed to her Uncle Yi’s eyes. She was about to open her mouth to say something but Shen Yi shook his head and gestured her to keep quiet.

A smile crossed on the little girl’s lips in understanding. Since she still had enough time to sleep, she went back to slumber beside her Aunty Xinxin.

An hour later, Lu Xinyi’s eyes opened slowly and smiled sleepily as she felt the warmth that surrounded her. The twins had made themselves sleep between her and Shen Yi but now, the twins were both clinging on her side, wrapping an arm on her torso. Shen Yi stayed on his side, already awake and checking his appointments for today.

After managing to free herself from the twins, Lu Xinyi disappeared to take a shower and the came downstairs only to find her husband and the twins talking about breakfast. Zhichen wanted to have some bacon and eggs while Yuyan insisted that she will eat nothing but pancakes. They both quite down when they saw their Aunty Xinxin smiling at them. _-.

“Did you sleep well last night?’ she asked as she stepped into the kitchen and gave a peck on Shen Yi’s lips before making her way to the fridge to see if they had the food both children preferred for their breakfast.

It seemed like she needed to do another shopping since their food supplies were getting limited as more people have to be fed. Ah, with the twins staying with them and her brother-in-law joining them at meals, she supposed she needed to adjust their monthly budget for food.

When Shen Xue arrived for dinner at his brother’s house that night, he wasn’t surprised to see the kitchen filled with laughter and voices. Zhichen was sitting on the counter with an empty bowl on his hand while Yuyan was helping her Aunty Xinxin to tidy up the kitchen.

Ah, such a homey place. Shen Xue was glad about the recent changes to his brother’s life. He got a great wife that can good cook food and his temper was more tolerable than before. Well, at least if his Big Sis was involved in their discussion.

Lu Xinyi took out the roasted chicken and instantly the room was filled with its aroma. There was nothing more delicious than a roast chicken! Smear it in a seasoned herb and butter mixture, surround it with vegetables, roast it in the oven and wait for it to cook! Shen Xue could almost taste it just from the scent alone and he couldn’t wait to indulge at its deliciousness.

Wonderful, just wonderful. The purchase he made to buy the property next to his brother’s was worth it. Even if it cost him several million just to convince the previous owner to sell it to him.

Having been treated with his Big Sis’s delicious meals, Shen Xue couldn’t wait what else she could cook for them. He suddenly felt so famished. Not only he could save a lot of bucks from eating from restaurants, but he will also have a chance to irritate his brother more.

Shen Yi, with the help of the twins, prepared the dining table while Lu Xinyi served their dinner. Both of the twin’s eyes widened as they stared at the whole chicken.

“Wow, this looks so yummy,” Zhichen exclaimed as he leaned forward to look closely at the chicken. Their Aunty Xinxin had cooked it for hours and he had no idea that she can cook some restaurant like meals.

“Ah, but it took too long to cook.” Yuyan shifted on her seat. If she and Zhichen could have meals like this every day, maybe they should stay permanently with Uncle Yi’s place. She wanted a mommy like her Aunty Xinxin!

“When we roast a chicken, we don’t do it with just a sprinkling of salt. No no no…we do it to bring out the flavor. There is so much flavor in this chicken and we don’t need to alter it.” Lu Xinyi carefully cut the chicken into portions.

Shen Xue’s sight sat in a daze. The crackle of chicken as it was cut and the wondrous aroma that perfumed the dining area provoke a feeling of satisfaction and fulfillment on his hungry eyes but not on his stomach.

“Be careful. It’s still hot.” Shen Yi said while he waited for his wife to cut the portions for him and for the twins.

“Can I have the leg, please?” Yuyan asked, batting her eyelids innocently to her aunt.

“Me too! Me too!” Zhichen pleaded.

“Of course, dear.” Lu Xinyi smiled.

“Spare us some crispy skins!” Shen Xue joined the fun.

Who can resist that that crispy skin? That was the part they all had to fight over at the table. Wait. Was it normal to get into family fights over crispy skin?

After helping the children with their meals, Lu Xinyi gave the breast part to her husband.

“The breasts should come out moist and tender. I’m sorry, I know you like the leg part but the kids…” she mumbled.

“It’s okay.” Shen Yi assured her. As long as he could have a taste of her delicious meals, there was nothing to worry about except for his glutton brother. “Xue, take the chicken’s arse.” he coldly glared at his younger brother.

“What? Why?!” His brother will never change! Shen Yi wanted him to eat the chicken’s arse? Still a big bully after his marriage with Lu Xinyi!
