After Transmigrating, The Fat Wife Made A Comeback!

Chapter 1263 - 1263 Abuse

1263 Abuse

The security officer had listened to Shen Na and hit Ma San with all his strength. Ma San was found to have two broken ribs, one on each side, and he needed to recuperate in the hospital for a period of time. This was simply a disaster for the Ma family who was not doing well at the moment. Moreover, they did not dare to go to the police as the Shen family still had evidence against them!

After Chu Ju left the house, she did not return home and just stayed in the hospital to take care of Ma San diligently. After three days, it was the weekend and Ma Meng had to go home to get a change of clothes.

Ma Meng picked the time when Chu Ju would usually go out to play mahjong. She did not want to bump into Chu Ju and get scolded again. The moment she entered the house, she could smell a foul stench.

“What’s this smell… Is there an issue with the sewage pipes?” Ma Meng used her sleeve to cover her mouth and nose and said disdainfully.

She went to the kitchen to check the drainage pipe first, then to the bathroom, but she did not find any signs of blockage. In the end, she traced the smell to her room. When she opened the door, she was shocked to find a person lying on her bed!

“Oh my goodness!” Ma Meng’s legs went weak with fear and she fell to the ground. Her stomach churned and she almost threw up.

No matter how simple-minded a person Ma Meng was, she could tell that the person on the bed was her ex-sister-in-law. Qian’e had always been very nice to Ma Meng. Qian’e felt that Ma Meng went through very similar experiences as her in her younger days, so when Chu Ju bullied Ma Meng in the past, Qian’e would always protect her secretly.

Qian’e had not eaten or drunk anything during the few days she had been left at the Ma family’s house. She even had to do her toileting on the bed. At the current moment, Qian’e lay on the bed, unmoving and with a pale face, as if she was already dead. It did not sound like she was still breathing.

Qian’e had always been very skinny. Now, her cheeks were sunken in and she looked like she was all skin and bones. This was the first time Ma Meng had seen someone looking like this.

She mustered her courage and got up from the floor, approaching Qian’e slowly.

“Elder sister… are you alright? Elder sister, are you still awake?” Ma Meng asked in a trembling voice.

When Qian’e did not respond to her, she reached out a finger fearfully to check if Qian’e was still breathing. When she realized that Qian’e was still breathing weakly, she immediately called the police. After the police arrived, they immediately set about saving Qian’e and also made a call to the hospital to come and send her for treatment.

After Qian’e was taken away, Ma Meng was also brought to the police station to have her statement taken. She told the police everything she knew and the police immediately set out to restrict the movements of Chu Ju and Ma San.

Ma Meng had never dreamed that Chu Ju and Ma San would actually kill someone! No, perhaps they just wanted to kidnap Qian’e. However, Qian’e clearly looked like she had been abused.

Luo Yu happened to be at the police station to attend to some matter. As soon as he entered, he bumped into Zou Ming, who had a worried expression on his face. He went forward and patted Zou Ming’s shoulder as he asked, “What are you doing? Why do you look so bitter and resentful? Who had provoked our Officer Zou again?”

“Stop it! Don’t act like you’re very familiar with me! What are you doing at this police station?” Zou Ming asked impatiently.

“I’m here to submit some documents for my guys. We’ve been collaborating with this police station on a mission recently. Do you think I’m willing to come and see you? Tell me what’s making you so worried. Come, entertain me,” Luo Yu asked with a laugh.

Zou Ming rolled his eyes and said, “There’s this ongoing case and I can’t seem to contact the victim’s family members. I have no idea what to do next.”

This case was regarding Qian’e. He had tried calling her parents, but no one ever picked up the phone. He had also gone to her house, but he could not seem to find any contact details for anyone close to her. It seemed that she was a loner and did not have any friends at all. When he asked the neighbors, they all said the same thing too.

Her medical expenses at the hospital were currently still being paid for by the police station! However, they had a rule that they could only cover a portion of the medical expenses. Once the amount hit the limit, the hospital would have to stop giving treatment. Therefore, Zou Ming was feeling very anxious and afraid that her condition would worsen if that happened. None of them could bear the responsibility of making a decision like this.

“Xia Zhe is at home. Give me that person’s information and I’ll get Xia Zhe to check for you. He knows many people. It’s better than you being anxious and helpless here,” Luo Yu said.

Xia Wen and Xia Zhe both knew Zou Ming. Zou Ming and Xia Zhe were classmates and had served in the same army unit in the past. They were very familiar with each other. If Zou Ming was still in the army, they would currently be close team members going through thick and thin together.
